I experimented with different approaches to the character design, such as using simple lines, or blue blocks of colour or a combination of blocks and lines.

One of my favourites is the combination of lines and blocks of colour, which I think makes for a richer illustration.

I tried to finish the subsequent colouring with an etching, which has more detail than the print and its own unique texture. Secondly, to distinguish between the main body and the secondary body, I rubbed lightly with a cotton swab so that the print was not consistent from one colouring to the next, so there were subtle differences from one print to the next.

Through this project I have gained a deeper understanding of solitude and when

it comes I don't feel afraid, I enjoy the peace it brings to me like the characters in the painting.
